INTRODUCTION

[D]AVY & [B]RIAN

D: The Thricefold Discord- three demons so ornery, they got thrown out for their bickering! Very different profiles on the three of these fighters- so put your thinking cap on when you go to put this warband in action. No plot card, and nothing too fancy in the objectives- it's the power cards where these odd-balls have a chance to shine.

Uninspired
D: Beefy boi! Starting at 5 wounds kind of liberates you from crossing that large fighter threshold. Super weird uninspired attack that seems designed to inspire Lascivyr.

D: I love that inspiration mechanic.

B: Very thematic for the slothful Vexmor to not put a lot of effort into their attack with only 1 die smash. Love the built in damage reduction insurance. Backup wizard for casting is nice too.

Inspired
D: Vex is a tank!

B: Going up to two dodge and two smash makes me very inclined to press Vashtiss in early to cause dice and inspire Vexmor.

D: Ya mean two block! As Iā€™m sure they intended, this is the hardest dude to inspire in my experience so far.

Uninspired
D: Juicy range here. That's a cool ability to deny supports. I like the tension of whether you attack at range or get in close to deny supports. This would be nuts if this demon found a scything attack.

B: Two dodge and 4 health is substantive. A very versatile fighter with 4 move plus fly get their attack profiles wherever you need them.

Inspired
D: Moar range!

B: Only change is the spell attack goes to range 4. Making me more inclined to risk this fighter early for getting Vexmor Inspired online. Still a very solid fighter in their own right.

D: Spell gets more accurate too. How risky you want to be with Vash depends on how much you leaned into magic. And Lascivyr is fragile enough that if you throw away Vash, you're down to one fighter.

Uninspired
D: Waaow, that Locus makes Lascivyr pretty accurate. Good luck inspiring, Vashtiss. Though... Vash might care the least about inspiring.

B: Assassin and Brawler could have some hidden fun interactions for the future. My favorite model of the warband. Would love to see Daemonette models brought up to par with this dancer.

Inspired
D: Verrry accurate, very fast.

B: 3 Smash with 2 Damage and Grievous, Oh lawd. Mighty Swing is mighty tempting.

Objectives

D: This deck has six Temptations (of course it does, Slaanesh, amirite?) That actually feels like enough to score this, especially in Rivals. Surges for just doing power step things are always tempting.

B: I'd feel comfortable including this with 4 Temptation cards in deck. Will circle back to comment if I feel 4 are powerful enough to merit taking.

D: This seems like a lot, but kinda rad that you just have to roll. Success not required. This faction deck has three gambit spells, a spell action upgrade, and a spell *reaction* upgrade.

B: Worst case scenario you have to attack four times with Vashtiss's spell attack, making this an end phase card. Only including this if I'm leaning magical.

D: Soooo, definitely seems like you could try to lean into a casting build with these cool cats.

B: If you're brining Cacophony, you should be bringing this too. And not risking Vashtiss like I've previously been inclined haha.

D: Lascivyr is gonna get this for ya fo sho.

B: Seems like an auto include. Risky late game, and dead if you're only remaining fighter isn't Lascivyr.

D: There's enough upgrades out there, including one in faction, that this can be live even with one fighter left.

D: Feels really solid, but those inspires are a little dicey/kinda out of your control sometimes.

B: Risky. Feels like a gameplan Lacivyr doesn't survive.

D: Hrrrrm. Not quite wrapping my head around this. It scales down nicely, but isn't really a position you want to set up too often.

B: Easier late game, but you want Surges scoring early, not stuck in your hand in early rounds. Cautiously pass on this.

D: Three conditions for a one glory end phase? Unless the inspire is a little easier to land than I'm imagining, this gets cut in constructed formats.

D: Love that art, love that quote.

B: Seeing as I'm already wanting to run them with Breakneck Slaughter, standing on an Objective is even harder. Gonna be easy to find a replacement, but a reliable option in Rivals maybe.

D: Iiiinteresting. Probably a little too much to ask in early rounds for one glory. I mostly just want to jump ahead to the False Gifts, which I love. Can be friendly *or* enemy.

B: Big ask round one, but bound to happen over the course of the game.

D: Similar thoughts here- tough early. It is nice late because it doesn't really ask you to *do* or be anywhere. Feels not worth 1 glory, but I don't know if this could be 2 glory.

B: Feels bound to happen, but dice can be fickle. Worse still is feeling like you need to hold onto a 1 glory end phase going into the next round, something you should rarely actually do.

D: Ew! That looks super hard. There's some power card help, but not enough, I think.

B: Finally a two glory end phase!... aaand its really tough, yikes.

D: I like the theme of these scoring if the situation is achieved on friendly or enemy warbands. Seems like you might score it for your own warband more than the other way.

B: Maybe maybe maybe... Yea I'll try it. Considering how low glory this objective deck has been, I feel I have to.

D: Inspired Vash can work towards this for sure. Just might have too many board states where this pushes you into awkward plays.

B: I'm in. Just a fickle dice round will be frustrating.

B: Overall they seem to have several good surge options, which is excellent. A bit rough in the EndPhase card department.

Gambits

D: That effect is a little meh, but... Use with Vexmor and this is 2/3 chance to stagger, 1/3 chance to Inspire Lascivyr.

B: Feels really lack-luster after knowing Bolt of Tzeentch, but Discord should not have the same casting prowess. Good setup for successive successful attacks/spells in their Surge department.

D: The first Temptation! Your opponent is always going to pick the "least bad" option whenever these come up, so they can each be pretty powerful. Like this one!

B: Love this. Love push tech and love setting up future activation's for success.

D: This one's not as spicy. I gotta imagine the first option will be the most frequently chosen one. It's kind of a "nothing" late in the game.

B: Rivals and Nemesis you hope for this Round 1, probably not even taking it in Nemesis tho and certainly not in Championship.

D: The first caveat is so you at least have to risk damage on your own warband. This is cool, though. Feels like a really reasonable ping.

B: Fuel for Triumph of Pain and Triumph of Carnality. Get 1 fighter in contact with 2+ of theirs and you'll guarantee they choose the single damage on themselves. Leave this in your hand against Wurmspat tho.

D: Not a temptation, but plays like one. Those options are both great, tempered by the opponent choosing.

B: If I'm building magical I'll happily take it.

D: Lol, what a weird ping! Not a choose either, so you can hit someone out of sight.

B: Very strange. Very interesting. I'll buy it. More fuel for easy surges.

D: Ooo- defensive and offensive options!

B: Love the versatility, and excellent fuel if you have Escalating Screams in hand.

D: That's a push *any* fighter. But this is another one that can be big early, but it total junk late. Has a sort of "meta" effect, where it puts pressure on your opponent to spend glory early in case this is on the way.

B: Boy I love that first option. Willing to run it for that early game play.

D: Help Triumph of Indolency I suppose? Fun mini interaction with playing against Toxic Terrors and Ill Prepared.

B: Love this, favorite temptation. Be careful if your opponent would be happy/needs the help to be charged out.

D: Wow! Yes please!

B: Love this one two. Sounds like 4 temptation cards I'd be happy to take.

Upgrades

D: Er, Duelist's Speed with significant downside. Admittedly, a downside that helps set up your (checks notes) one glory end phase objective. This is a powerful ability, so there's a decent chance I still take this in Nemesis and will definitely leverage in Rivals.

B: Not loving this one. I love push tech, but with no healing so far, not worth it imo.

D: So if you get driven back you won't get the chance to do this thing, but it can really increase the risk/reward for adjacent attackers.

B: Range 2+ is common enough let alone driveback, can't see anyone willingly risking this damage.

D: Lovvvvve this idea. Nice defensive buff for your own fighters, or can toss this on Ephilim's snipey head.

D: And by "this idea" I mean the concept of the False Gifts in general!

B: Incredible, this one is for me 95% of the time. Only fighter I wouldn't love this on is Vashtiss, but thats still a significant defensive boon and will take if Vashtiss has to be my Voltron fighter.

D: Oh man! Big potential here. Love it.

B: Wild, absolutely wild. Fascinated to play around with this.

D: This is just how Duke imagines himself anyways.

D: Really cool- handing out -2 move or giving yourself +1 wound if in need. Nice flexibility.

B: So much fun. Love the idea of adding this to their fighter to make them large and break upgrades.

D: Wow! What a cool effect. Throw this one someone who stacked a bunch of defensive tech right before you go in for the kill! Three damage, three smash is a great attack but this could also be a downgrade if someone has stacked a lot of Great Strength and the like.

B: I'm just going to refer to this as the Laer Blade. Likely adding this to my own fighter, but my god that option is fun. Love the idea of them obsessing over the blade.

D: No range limitations! Vash just gonna scoop this up real quick...

B: With all the in-faction ping damage we have seen, this will be an auto include.

D: What the heck? I don't even know if it's good, but I do know it's weird and I'm here for it.

B: Wow, what fun imagery. So you cant cause the target to support the attack on themselves, but you gain support from their allies. More fuel for Ecstatic Killers, and just salt in the wound. Incredible accuracy into swarms.

D: Saucy. Position your range 2+ fighters well in R1 to really leverage this. Whoops, and by Range 2+ I mean "Range 2 exactly"

B: Very saucy with push tech. Voltron-ing this warband will be so much fun.

D: Nice! Pretty standard profile for a range attack, but I do love that Hadzu style ability.

B: Fun option, but I don't think this warband lacks for attack profiles or positional manipulation.

Summary

D: Wow. Honestly, we almost could have stopped at the False Gifts. What a mechanic. The Temptations are another thematic entry with plenty of potential to be explored. We've built Nemesis decks using Breakneck Slaughter for an aggro option, and Force of Frost for a magic/control option. But you better believe there's more ways to stretch with this warband. Give them access to the whole swath of Championship building opportunities, and Toxic Terrors helps lay the foundation for a non-magic-centric build. Honestly, it's been a while since we saw a warband so intentionally designed for control play... and we're here for it. You might even say, we're tempted...
